Our members contribute to the collective success of the team by recognizing our interconnected roles and the relationship between individual effort and group achievement. Honour the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of background, abilities, or beliefs. We treat others as we wish to be treated, showing consideration for their feelings, rights, and perspectives. We remain open to learning from coaches, officials, and fellow players, and we actively support the growth and development of those around us.

If a player is removed from play for disciplinary reasons, coaches clearly communicate the reason to the player before returning to play. Coaches are also responsible for following up with the player afterward and involving parents when appropriate. Parents are responsible for speaking with the coach if they feel their child is not being treated fairly.

Fair play is not the same as equal play. Expecting that all players receive perfectly equal court time is not realistic. Factors such as frequent stoppages, varying bench sizes, and the pace of a run‑time game make equal playing time impossible to guarantee. Coaches are expected to provide all players with meaningful playtime in every game. Holding coaches to play-time-equality is unreasonable.

Our members uphold the CMBA Code of Conduct and always compete with integrity. We strive to perform at our highest level while showing respect for our opponents, competing with intensity but never with the intention of overwhelming or embarrassing another team.

We share a genuine love for the game of basketball. We work together with teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials in a collective pursuit of excellence. We embrace the challenge of competition with grace, bringing our best effort whether we win or lose. We honour the game, value everyone’s contributions, and celebrate success by sharing the credit.
