Remember

  • Register early - waitlists are expected

  • Registration Confirmation - make sure that you check your email for a confirmation email from SSBA that confirms registeration

  • New for South Stoney Basketball - Uniform Return Bond (URB) - during registration you will be asked to consent to our URB Policy

  • Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Fees - while collected during SSBA registration, ABA fees are separate to SSBA fees and primarily go towards providing insurance during sanctioned ABA events.

  • Registration Fee Summary includes: ABA + Age Group Fee + Uniform Return Bond

* Players born in 2008 must be entering grade 12

Proof of Age & Home Zone

  • For registration to be complete, a picture of the player Birth Certificate and picture of their home residence address via Utility Bill must be uploaded at the time of registration.

  • Your postal code will be used to determine South Stoney Zone eligibility.

  • No "play-down” to younger age groups requests are permitted unless in accordance with SSBA Policies & Guidelines.

  • Any attempt to forge or adjust the players actual Date of Birth or Home Address, upon review and decision by SSBA and CMBA, will result in the automatic and indefinite suspension of the player from playing in any current or future CMBA zone.

Evaluations

  • SSBA Evaluations are held by Age Group with the U18 groups starting in early September, followed by U15 the week after, and so on. All Age Groups will be completed before the end of September

  • Registered players/parents will be contacted via email by their Age Group Coordinator with dates and locations of the evaluation sessions.

  • Parents are NOT PERMITTED in the gym during evaluations.

  • Accommodation requests can be made by the parent/guardian and will be considered for two scenarios:

    • If players are part of a blended family or live in the same household and have been placed no more than two teams apart (top player plays down)

    • If a player is medically or physically handicapped and cannot play in the category assigned by birth year. A physicians note must be provided.
