Regulations for School Facility Use

South Stoney Basketball Association rents only the gymnasium portion of each facility. All attendees must always remain inside the gym. Children are not permitted to be unattended anywhere outside the gym.

For the safety of all participants, parents and guardians dropping off minors must ensure that the school is open and that a coach or designated supervisor is present before leaving the premises.

Each group must appoint an activity supervisor who is directly responsible for the safety, behavior, and overall conduct of all participants and spectators. Supervision is always required.

Any inappropriate behavior will be reported to the City of Calgary Bookings Office. The group will be notified of the complaint and the associated review process.

Teams are responsible for any damage to the facility that occurs during their booking.

Facility Usage Guidelines

• We are guests in the schools. Only the gymnasium is permitted for use during our bookings.

• Outdoor footwear is not allowed in the gym for all adults and children. Please remove outdoor shoes and leave them at the school entrance. Parents must always remain in the gym, and siblings who are not participating must be supervised. Children are not permitted to roam the hallways.

• Entrance and exit doors must always remain closed and unobstructed. Do not prop doors open under any circumstances.

• Entrance doors will be locked 15 minutes after the booking start time and will remain locked until the end of the session. If participants arrive late, the group is responsible for monitoring the doors to allow access as needed.

• Your permit time includes both setup and takedown. When your booking ends, please exit the building promptly. Hallways are off limits—no meetings, waiting, loitering, or playing is permitted outside the gym.

Equipment & Activity Usage Guidelines

• Groups using gyms with adjustable hoops must return all hoops to their original height at the end of their booking.

• Basketball dribbling is permitted only inside the gymnasiums.

• Hanging on rims, climbing on equipment, playing on the stage, or engaging in any similar unsafe activities is not allowed.

• Outdoor balls are not permitted in school gyms under any circumstances.

Not Permitted on Facility Property

• Tape of any kind is not allowed on the floors. Groups will be held responsible for any damage caused by taping, including repair costs.

• Only water is permitted inside the gymnasium.

Fee and Fines

Any fines levied against South Stoney Basketball Association due to the misuse of the facilities by any Team will be the responsibility of the Team who incurred them.

All scheduled practice times for the offending Team will be discontinued until the fine has been paid.
